NYSID purchases satisfy your obligation to the Preferred Source Program, which was established via Article XI, Section 162 of the New York State Finance Law in order to advance special social and economic goals related to the employment of New Yorkers with disabilities. Under this law, when certain commodity or service offerings meet the purchasing needs of a state or local government agency, public benefit corporation and some public authorities, those purchases must be made through the Preferred Source Program. NYSID is an approved facilitating agency of the Program.

Products Plus a wholesale/Distribution center is a "Social Enterprise/Affirmative Business" venture providing high quality, full service distribution of general office supplies throughout the New York Metropolitan area.ACRMD Products Plus under the mandate from the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, ACRMD changed its business model by establishing a "Social Enterprise/Affirmative Business" whose primary purpose is to mitigate a social need.  It has implemented the methods and disciplines of business and the power of the marketplace to advance, in this instance, the creation of jobs for People with Developmental Disabilities in an integrated setting.
